He was born May 31, 1952, in Tiffin to Vernon and Norma (Smith) Murphy. On October 20, 1973, he married Jan D. Mowery.
Larry was a 1971 graduate of Columbian High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1972-1973.

She was born November 18, 1952, in Tiffin, to Robert Joseph and Lois Jean
(Smith) Traunero. Her mother died March 1, 2008, and her father survives in
Tiffin. On June 29, 1974 , she married Jerome Kiser, and he survives.
She was a 1971 graduate of Columbian High School and a 1975 graduate of Notre Dame College. She earned her Masters Degree from Heidelberg University.
